Family, friends, and the Gray, Tennessee, community are mourning the loss of Grace Olivia White, who passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 22. Loved ones find comfort in their faith, believing that Grace closed her eyes on earth only to open them in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on August 6, 2003, in Johnson City, Tennessee, Grace was the cherished youngest daughter of Norman and Amy White. She was known for her joyful spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering Christian faith, qualities that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
From an early age, Grace displayed a passion for dance, athletics, and serving others. She participated in gymnastics, tumbling, competitive dance, cheerleading, and proudly represented Daniel Boone High School as a member of its cheerleading program. Her enthusiasm, determination, and radiant smile made her a source of encouragement and inspiration to teammates, coaches, and friends. She also shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Roxy, who brought her great happiness and companionship.
Faith was the cornerstone of Grace’s life. Baptized by her grandfather, Dr. Norman White Sr., at Embreeville Church of Christ, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of ten and remained steadfast in her Christian walk as a devoted member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. During her high school years, she actively participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Truth Bible Club, striving each day to live with humility, kindness, and a servant’s heart.
An outstanding student, Grace was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club and consistently earned Dean’s List honors throughout her college education. Motivated by a lifelong desire to help children, she volunteered at local hospitals before pursuing her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. Having successfully completed three years of nursing school, she was preparing for a career dedicated to caring for young patients with the same compassion and empathy that defined her own life.
Above all, Grace treasured her family and the relationships she built throughout her life. She is survived by her loving parents, Norman and Amy White; her brother, Noah White; her longtime boyfriend, Jake Cadogan; and numerous grandparents, relatives, friends, church family, classmates, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory and the joy she brought into their lives.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Grace’s life during visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Appalachian Humane Society in Johnson City, honoring Grace’s love for animals and her compassionate spirit.
Though her life ended far too soon, Grace Olivia White leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, kindness, academic excellence, and selfless service. Her love for God, dedication to helping others, and joyful spirit will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Grace Olivia White will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly celebrated by her family, friends, church community, classmates, and all whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
