Family, friends, and members of the travelling community gathered in Collyhurst, Manchester, on July 24 to bid a final farewell to Jimmy Ward, who passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 27 after suffering a heart attack.
Remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and deeply respected member of the community, Jimmy’s funeral drew hundreds of mourners to St. Patrick’s Church, where loved ones came together to celebrate his life and pay tribute to the lasting impact he made on those around him.
His family arranged an extraordinary farewell that reflected the love and admiration they held for him. The funeral procession featured numerous vehicles adorned with personalized number plates bearing Jimmy’s name, Manchester United emblems, photographs, and heartfelt tributes. Irish flags were displayed throughout the procession, while mourners wore Manchester United ties and football shirts in recognition of Jimmy’s lifelong passion for the club.
Outside the church, a moving display of photographs chronicled Jimmy’s life, accompanied by music and a heartfelt message that read:
